Transmarine Builds for the Future Through Continued Support of Cal Maritime Recruits
Transmarine Navigation Corporation—a leading U.S. tramp ship agency with offices in a dozen port cities along the Gulf Coast, West Coast, and Hawaii—recently took part in Cal Maritime Academy’s 2025 Spring Career Fair.
Transmarine’s Managing Director Leslie Clements, Long Beach District Manager Amber Herrly, and Vessel Manager Rene Salceda attended the event, held on February 25 on Cal Maritime’s scenic waterfront campus in Vallejo, California.
“We’re thrilled to have been part of such an important event for these young men and women,” said Leslie Clements, a Cal Maritime alumnus herself. “We will continue to support Cal Maritime in any way we can to help ensure that the future of our industry is in good hands.”
The Career Fair gave Transmarine the opportunity to educate students about the types of jobs it offers, accept resumes, and share experiences of career paths in the shipping industry. Additionally, Transmarine offered mock job interviews to help students gain valuable experience.
Transmarine recruits heavily from Cal Maritime, and currently more than half of Transmarine’s staff are Cal Maritime alumni.
