Members of Transmarine Navigation Corporation – a leading U.S. tramp ship agency with offices in a dozen port cities along the Gulf Coast, West Coast, and Hawaii – recently participated in California Maritime’s 2024 Fall Career Fair.
As a Blue-level sponsor for the event, held October 22 on Cal Maritime’s scenic waterfront campus, Transmarine was given the opportunity to educate students about the business, culture, and possible career paths within the company.
“We’re thrilled to have taken part in the Career Fair,” said Leslie Clements, Transmarine Managing Director. “It’s always wonderful to return to the Cal Maritime campus to take time sharing our experiences with these ambitious students, who represent the next generation of leaders in the maritime industry.”
At the Career Fair, Clements, along with colleagues Rachel Prasad and Lea Schneiderman, met with students to discuss the types of jobs Transmarine offers, accept resumes, and share their experiences of career paths in the shipping industry. Together, the three also administered mock job interviews to help students gain valuable experience.
Transmarine recruits heavily from Cal Maritime, as currently more than half of Transmarine’s staff are Cal Maritime alumni.
Located on a scenic waterfront campus in Vallejo, California, California State University Maritime Academy is a unique and specialized campus of the California State University system.
