Transmarine Builds for the Future Through Continued Support of Cal Maritime Recruits
Transmarine Navigation Corporation—a leading U.S. tramp ship agency with offices in a dozen port cities along the Gulf Coast, West Coast, and Hawaii—is set to take part in Cal Maritime Academy’s 2024 Spring Career Fair and Women in Leadership Conference.
The Spring Career fair will be hosted on February 27, followed by the Women in Leadership Conference on March 15-16. Both events will be held on Cal Maritime’s scenic waterfront campus in Vallejo, California.
“We are proud to be part of these important events,” said Leslie Clements, Transmarine Managing Director and Cal Maritime alumnus. “We will continue to support Cal Maritime in any way we can to help ensure that the future of our industry is in good hands.”
The Career Fair will give Transmarine the opportunity to educate students about the types of jobs it offers, accept resumes, and share experiences of career paths in the shipping industry. Additionally, Transmarine will offer mock job interviews to help students gain valuable experience.
The Women in Leadership Conference, of which Transmarine is a Silver-level sponsor, will feature discussions of internship opportunities, mock-interviews, and in-class presentations specific to the goals of cadets and professional women in the maritime industry. Transmarine will host a panel of its own as part of the event schedule.
At last year’s WLC, Transmarine comprised a panel moderated by Clements, called “What Does A Ship’s Agent Do?” The panel brought together women from different shipping agencies to discuss their experiences.
Transmarine recruits heavily from Cal Maritime, and currently more than half of Transmarine’s staff are Cal Maritime alumni.
